To summarize, your body is made of 10’s of trillions of cells. It’s nothing but cells.
And the health and longevity of these individual cells determines how long you will live healthy, strong, with high energy and doing the things you want to do.
While we have our chronological age (our age in years), we also have our biological age (the age of our body according to its internal longevity markers).
Our biological aging can be sped up, slowed down and even reversed.
And this determines both our lifespan, how long we’ll live, and our healthspan, how long we’ll live in a healthy, active state.
And this is all determined by the health of our cells and, more importantly, the health of a limited number of cells called stem cells which exist to replace injured cells throughout our life.
So let’s dive in for a quick refresher...

Testosterone, like Growth Hormone, plays a large role in muscle bulk and strength, as well as fat-burning — in both men and women.
Known as the “male” hormone, we see much higher numbers in men than in women, though women still need this just as men still need some estrogen, the “female” hormone.
Normal testosterone levels give men that chiseled look, high energy levels, and strength.
In women, we also see more definition, muscle, and energy.
And it gives men and women smoother, firmer skin.
But the lower our testosterone levels get, the more fatigued we can feel, and it becomes harder to build muscle and lose fat. It also increases the risk of disease due to its role in conjunction with our immune system and healthy cellular responses.

That’s a nice title, isn’t it? Unlocking The Aging Process.
But what does it really mean?
If we want to actually increase longevity, actually increase lifespan and overall health and ability during the entirety of that lifespan, then we need to look at some things.
We need to define what we’re talking about and, even more, compare the current “norm” we’ve become accustomed to… to what not only can exist, but does exist in other places today.
Heart disease, cancer, diabetes, dementia, high blood pressure, kidney disease, autoimmune disease, loss of muscle, strength and energy, low hormones, brittle bones — these are what many of us think of when we think of aging.

If you’re reading this page, it’s likely that you’ve seen our claims for PerfectAmino Essential Amino Acids; and that you may have a few questions about them.
The first claim is that not all proteins are equal. That different proteins, once digested and absorbed, provide our bodies with different amounts of usable protein, gram for gram.
For example, if you consume 1 gram of protein from whey, the body does not receive the same amount of usable protein to build new muscle, bone, etc. as it does from 1 gram of protein from whole eggs.

I wanted to provide a little information on how our immune system works and how you can prepare your body to stay as healthy as possible.
Getting sick is never fun, but even more, is often unneeded.
Yes, we may occasionally get a cold, the flu, or some other illness, but if our immune system was in proper health? Then we get sick less often.

As I said in the last article HERE, there are about 500 different species of bacteria. And between them, they ether produce or help to produce neurotransmitters in our body, such as Serotonin and GABA, which calm and relax us, de-stress us, allow us to fall asleep, and help to keep our hormones in balance so we can lose weight and add muscle.
Some of these bacteria eat the foods coming in such as amino acids, vitamins and other nutrients, and some actually produce amino acids, or vitamins, or other nutrients that the body can use or that other bacteria feed off of.

Sleep is one of the most important aspects of our life.
When our sleep is below normal, when it’s broken up or thrown off, it affects us more both physically and mentally than we realize.
Sleep is when most fat burning and muscle building occurs, as well as when most cellular repair happens.
Our cortisol levels lower when we get good sleep and we become less stressed or anxious and more able to relax. This helps balance out hormones and neurotransmitters.
Additionally, our cravings for food – especially sugars – decrease.
But when we get poor or broken sleep, our cortisol levels rise, lowering testosterone, growth hormones, and progesterone — our fat burning, muscle building, bone-strengthening, calming hormones. It raises our appetite and increases our stress levels.

If your cells are taking in less sugar because they’re resisting insulin knocking at their door to let in sugar, then the cells have less energy to work with.
That sugar is there, and insulin is happily converting it to fat, but your cells aren’t getting it so of course they’re hungry and will keep telling you to eat more until they finally get some.
The more insulin resistant you are, the more of what you eat is going to fat storage and less to your cells.
This will happen even if you’ve just eaten a lot of food. It’s in your bloodstream, but the cells aren’t getting it so they’re still hungry and demanding you eat more.
And they’ll especially crave fast-acting sugars so they don’t have to wait for a slow-digesting sugar to finally get to them. If they’re starving then they want energy now.

Wait. Stop. Really? Is it really that bad?
Well, let’s look at it.
It kills anything it touches.
Literally. Any bacteria, any plants.
Dead.
